Alexander Sanders and Sarah E. Henson Alexander Sanders is the second child from the union of Stephen Sanders and Amy Moore. Alexander was born in 1857 in Washington County, Arkansas.
Alma Sanders married a McCuiston, and she
is buried at Prairie Grove Cemetery

When you visit the grave of Alexander’s family,
you soon realize that this must have been very sad. Alexander married Sarah E.
Henson who was born in1861. From this marriage, there were five children born. However
three of
them did not live past the age of 2, and this must have been a big heartache for Alexander and
Sarah. Their first child, was born on February 13, 1882, and died two days later. Their
second child, Elgy, was born on April 23, 1883, and died on October13, 1884. Their third
child, Byrthe, was born on April 2, 1885. The children are buried at
Prairie Grove Cemetery. On June 1888 or 1889, Alma
T. was born. The final child, Clyde, was born in January of 1891. On June 2, 1886, Byrthe died from the
same plague that killed her Aunt Martha Ellen, Isam, and other family members. Eight years
later at the age of 37,
Alexander died in 1894 Washington County, Arkansas.
Sometime between 1894 and 1900, Sarah remarried to Ellis Carney, who
already had children from a previous marriage. Sarah died in 1926.
Alexander, Sarah, their children, Ellis and daughter Jessie, are buried
at Prairie Grove
Cemetery, Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
