Isom Hurney Sanders, Jr.

Isom Hurney Sanders, the last of the eight children of Isom H. Sanders and Mary Jane Mayberry, was born July 7, 1886 in Prairie Grove, Washington County, Arkansas.

Hurney seems to actually remain in Washington County longer than his siblings. He met and married Mary Leanna (May) Snodgrass on the 20^th of December, 1908 in Fayetteville, Washington County. May was born at Summers, Arkansas right there in Washington County on December 2, 1887. Hurney and May had two daughters, Maude and Opal. Sometime before 1913, the family must have moved to Oklahoma, because Opal was born in Olive, Oklahoma. Hurney was living in Drumright, Oklahoma in 1940 when his brother Lemuel died. Hurney died on June 18, 1962 in Cushing, Oklahoma. May died March 23, 1979 in Drumright, Oklahoma. Opal Sanders is now living in a nursing home in Oklahoma City. Maude died the 12th of November, 1999. 

Maude was the mother of Nancy Kincade Haley, one of cousins whose a member of the Stephen Sanders Research Group.

Hurney and May are buried in Cushing, Oklahoma
