Ellen
Sanders and
When at the age of 18, Ellen married Samuel Henderson Wilson on July 1, 1903 in Washington County, Arkansas. Henderson was born November, 18, 1881 Part of the Wilson family including William and Henderson moved to the panhandle of Texas. The Wilson family were originally from East Tennessee. While Hen was on a visit back to Yale, OK., to see Benton, he met Maggie's sister, Ellen Sanders. Since that meeting, they carried on a relationship by mail, which led them getting married. They moved back to the panhandle to settle for a few years, eventually coming back to the Cimarron Valley (Oklahoma) in 1914.
Henderson and Ellen had four children: Jimmy, Homer Hurney, Fred Ellot, and Benton. Ellen died May 1, 1914, at Drumright, Oklahoma. There are no other facts known about her death. Henderson later remarried to Essie Bohannan, born October 2, 1896. From that marriage, they had three children: Wilma Faye, Hazel Bernice, and Doris Pauline. Henderson died January 1, 1945, both at Drumright, Oklahoma. The photos shown on this page were submitted stating that they were both images of Ellen Sanders and Henderson Wilson, however there is the possibility that one of these is of Henderson and Essie Bohannan.
