Reavis Herman Gerken Reavis Herman Gerken, 91, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, died July 24th, 2002 in Wildomar, California. Reavis was born on April 29th, 1911 in a log cabin in Yale, Oklahoma. He married Alma Lehr on May 1st, 1933. They resided in Okeene until 1941, when they moved to California where he worked in the aircraft industry during WW II. After the war he started his career as a carpenter. In 1953, he built their home in Garden Grove, California, where they lived together until Alma's death in 2000. After his retirement from carpentry, he and Alma shared 21 years of fishing and traveling with family and friends. He was preceded into death by his wife Alma Gerken of 68 years, his parents: Mr. & Mrs. A. J. (Ed) Gerken, a sister, Vera Looper, and one brother Gene Gerken. He is survived by three daughters: Vileta Dallessandro of Nipomo, California, Ramona McGroarty of Ireland, Annette Lalicker of Murrieta, California; one son, Delbert Gerken of Irvine, California; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Buelah Kinsley; and one brother, Jude Gerken. Services were held in Okeene, Oklahoma, Tuesday, July 30th, 2002 at Wilkinson Mortuary with Bennett Peters officiating.
